At Sensor Designs we have the mantra “Affordable Optical Measurement”.

 

The repetitive chanting may drive our families crazy, but it keeps us focused on coming up with new technology to transform today's expensive optical sensing products into affordable mass-market solutions.

 

Have you ever set out to make a distance measurement only to find that your measuring tape was a foot too short?

 

Today's laser distance measurement products can easily measure 40 feet or more, but priced from $100 they are still too expensive. We have applied our measurement technology to enable the introduction of a new class of low-cost distance measurement products. Targeting a selling price under $50 dollars retail, we intend to unlock the volume and revenue potential selling of the Do-It-Yourselfer.

 

We have just completed testing our first handheld prototype and have filed provisional patent application beginning the protection of our intellectual property.

 

Sensor Designs is working to attract leading industry partners to bring our products to market. We are involved in technology licensing discussions with a major laser tools manufacturer and are planning to expand our discussions to other market leaders in the coming quarter.

Handheld Measurement Product

 

Range : 6 inches to over 40 feet with 1/4 inch accuracy.

Size :  3” (w) x 2.6” (d) x 1.3” (t)

Beam Size : 2 inches @ 20 feet 

Features : Memory, stores the last 20 measurements.

 

Miniature Sensor Module


Size : 1.7” (w) x 1.3” (d) x 1.0” (t)

Range: 6 inches to 20 feet.
Accuracy : 1/2 inch @ 20 feet

Power : +5V, 50mA average at 1 measurment/sec.

Max Measurment Rate : 10 per second.

Interface : 115K bits serial,  pulse width modulated or analog 0-2.5V.
